The Children's Ombudsman
The Ombudsman ’s main duty is to promote the rights and interests of children and young people as set forth in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (the CRC).
The National Housing Credit Guarantee Board (BKN)
BKN, the National Housing Credit Guarantee Board, is a national government agency under the Ministry of Finance. BKN administers government credit guarantee programmes for housing development. BKN also has a responsibility for monitoring and providing information on developments in the credit and capital markets for housing.
The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning
The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning – Boverket – is the central government authority for planning, the management of land and water resources, urban development, building and housing under the Ministry of the Environment.
The Committee on Civil Affairs
prepares matters concerning  the Marriage, Parental, Inheritance, Commercial, Land and Enforcement Codes and acts of law which supersede or refer to provisions of these Codes, insofar as these matters do not fall to any other committee to prepare.
The Ombudsman against ethnic discrimination (DO)
Were you bypassed for the job you sought and believe it ’s because you wore a veil or head cloth? Were you denied an apartment and believe it’s because you have a foreign name? Do your classmates say insulting things about your skin color, your ethnic group or your religion? If the answer is yes, then you could have been the victim of ethnic or religious discrimination. There are laws that prohibit discrimination in different areas of society.
The Swedish Board of Supervision of Estate Agents (FMN)
The Swedish Board of Supervision of Estate Agents (FMN) is the central administrative agency that
* examines applications for registration as an estate agent
* maintains a central register of estate agents
* exercises supervision of the registered estate agentsprovides information on codes of practice for estate agents.
Swedish National Institute of Public Health (SNIP)
As of 1 July 2001, the National Institute of Public Health has a new, more clearly defined role in Sweden’s public health efforts, and
* is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the implementation of national public health policy
* is a national centre of knowledge for the development and dissemination of methods and strategies in the field of public health
* exercises supervision in the areas of alcohol, illicit drugs and tobacco.
The activities are conducted on the basis of scientific evidence.

National Institute of Economic Research
The National Institute of Economic Research (NIER) performs analyses and forecasts of the Swedish and international economy and conducts related research. The activites of NIER can be subdivided into the following areas: Analyses and Forecast, Business Tendency Surveys, Research, and Commissioned Assignments.
The Swedish Consumer Agency (KO)
(Konsumentverket) is a state agency whose task is to help the general public in Sweden with consumer affairs. The KO represents consumer interests in relations to businesses, and pursues legal action in the consumer interest.
National Land Survey of Sweden (Lantmäteriet)
Lantmäteriet´s mission is to manage the Swedish cadastral system and promote the rational subdivision of land, and to be responsible for the efficient provision of basic geographic and land information.
The Swedish Migration Board
The Migration Board is responsible forpermits for people visiting and settling in Sweden
*the asylum process, from application to a residence permit or to a voluntary return home (återvändande)
* citizenship affairs
* helping out with repatriation (återvandring)
* international work in the EU, UNHCR and other collaborative bodies
* ensuring that all the relevant public authorities work together satisfactorily.
Swedish Environmental Protection Agency
The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency monitors the environment and this provides knowledge of the situation in Sweden. Another source of knowledge is drawing up inventories of locations and species. Development is positive in several areas. Emissions of acidifying substances and substances that deplete the ozone layer, for example, have decreased.
Statistics Sweden
Statistics Sweden is a central government authority for official statistics and other government statistics and in this capacity also has the responsibility for coordinating and supporting the Swedish system for official statistics.
The Commission on Metropolitan Areas in Sweden
Storstadsdelegationen finns inom regeringskansliet med uppgift att utveckla och samordna den nationella storstadspolitiken.
The Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs
The Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs is a government agency that works to ensure that young people have access to influence and welfare.
