Assistant Professor in Economics
My primary research interests are housing policy, in particular the Swedish housing allowance system and housing market; the relationship among housing, fertility and household formation; and the Swedish social insurance system in general. In my doctoral dissertation — Housing, Policy and Family Formation (2010) — I looked at several of these areas.
I am currently investigating the economic incentives in the Swedish housing allowance system. The result from this study will form the basis for a normative discussion on how incentives in the social insurance systems should be designed if the purpose is to avoid poverty traps, reduce the reliance on welfare and to make it advantageous for individuals to work. In addition to my position as Assistant Professor of Economics at IBF, I work part-time as a Researcher at the Swedish Social Insurance Inspectorate, ISF, in Stockholm.
