Current research
The main themes for my research are residential segregation and neighbourhood effects on socio-economic career. These were also the themes in my thesis (Andersson 2001) Summary and Abstract. My most recent projects include 'The Changing Geography of the Swedish School System: Mobility Patterns, Attitudes, and Performance in a Multi-Ethnic Society' funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR) and a project funded by the Swedish Research Council Formas on 'Hunting for hotspots. Unequal urbanisation in the Swedish countryside'. Yet another research project concerns the issue of mobility patterns among elderly in Sweden. From April 2006 I hold a position as Assistant Professor at the Institute for Housing and Urban Research. I was appointed as docent in Social and Economic Geography, Uppsala University, 17 September 2010.
