My current research is focused on the environmental question
in housing and urban setting from a sociological perspective.
In this research I study theories of risk and uncertainty. Different
social interests and definitions of risk are central. Empirically
this is studied in an investigation of SBS (Sick Building Syndrome)
at Swedish schools and in that investigation I also want to find
out women's role in risk society. Not only the concept of risk
but also the concept of sustainable development is worth analysing.
This concept brings up the relation between global regimes, national
policies, local actions and mediating mechanisms.
The study of urban areas has also inspired me to study relations
between family, household structure, neighbourhood units, city
planning, welfare state, women emancipation and single living.
