My main research interest concerns mobility in various forms (travel, migration) and the relationship between mobility, place and belonging. Since my doctoral dissertation, Place, Place Attachment and Mobility: Three Sociological Studies (2002), most of my research has dealt with such questions in one way or another. I am currently working with two research projects about business travel and corporate travel management. These projects involve interviews with travel managers and frequent business travellers about their experiences, practices and strategies with regard to work-related travel. I also maintain an interest in migration studies, especially international retirement migration and transnationalism. My earlier research includes studies of dual citizenship, of attitudes towards the unemployed and the Swedish unemployment insurance, and of gender differences with regard to risk and accidents.
