Abstract
The aim with this comparative case study is to map out the current planning situation and discuss planning strategies for post-military residential areas with different potentials for a positive development. This study is based on the Report for the ReMiDo project titled "Participatory Processes for Sustainable Development of Former Military Sites in the Baltic Countries", which emphases the importance of stakeholder participation for sustainable development of former military sites. One of the proposed approaches Participatory Action Research was an inspiration to carry out stakeholders’ workshop and groups interviews and to map out the current planning situation and discuss planning strategies for the future. In order to analyze the data, the researchers compared data from different sources.)
