The Young Housing Researchers (YHR) will organise a pre-conference on the 24 – 26 of June, 2000 in connection with the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) conference on the 26-30 June, in Gävle, Sweden. Students participating in the YHR pre-conference can reduce the combined cost of the YHR/ENHR 2000 conferences by providing assistance during the ENHR conference. The organisation committee encourages PhD students to participate in the pre-conference where prominent international researchers will act as discussants and commentators on the students´ papers or research questions.

We would like to have the pre-conference flexible and open for discussions. Therefore, we welcome two different types of contributions. Either, you present the same paper as at the main conference (the traditional YHR-meeting-style) or you just present a research question for general discussion. The later is a possibility for those working on subjects beside their actual paper presented at the main conference or for those who want to grasp this opportunity to discuss a special topic in an interdisciplinary context. The written presentation of a research question to discuss can be as short as 1-2 pages.

A number of senior researchers will attend the pre-conference to comment on, help to improve and elaborate on the students´ papers, presentations and research questions.

Saturday June 24^th: Arrival and informal evening arrangement.
Sunday June 25^th: All-day sessions and informal evening arrangement.
Monday June 26^th: Morning: Instructions about the technical assistance.
Monday June 26^th: Afternoon: Registration for the ENHR main conference.

The total cost for PhD students participating in the YHR and ENHR conferences is reduced to 1,500 SEK excl. VAT (or 1,875 SEK incl. VAT). Please note the tax-regulations. Included in the fee are all sessions, a book of abstracts, all midday meals from Sunday 25^th to Friday 30^th of June, coffee breaks and three evening receptions with buffet. To receive this reduced fee, we ask you to provide some minor technical assistance during the main ENHR conference.

We expect all participants will take part in the ENHR main conference as well. Therefore, please notice that you are asked to indicate on the registration form for the main ENHR conference that you are participating in the YHR workshop. Please write the reduced fee of 1,500 SEK excl. VAT (or 1,875 SEK incl. VAT) on this form. If you do not have the registration form, do not hesitate to contact us. Please note that on the registration form, you can also book your accommodation for the entire stay.
